The Price, The Value

Image
Shalom was shattered! Only smithereens remained. Shalom, the pair missed. The cost though undiscerned.   Beauty, perfection And with love is creation. Yet one brief action Marred all of creation.   So thoughtfully done Wondrous and glor’ous it shone. Just thoughtless move one. The masterpiece is torn.   Value stupendous, Anyone so prosperous? Only Lord Jesus Can fit here apropos!   Heaven was emptied, Nothing the Father withheld. No treasure was spared. Son was given for good.   The price Jesus paid: With shame, injustice, and death. Peace, truth established For all infinitude.   Such value don’t spurn. Thus, cost-free giveth Heaven. Too good to be true? No, this is Heaven!   God! With thanks accept thee. Faithful we may be. Amen.   Yeanoku   July 28, 2021

Priceless Pearls

Image
A tiny mustard seed When nourished and watered Majestic plant it grows. Sun-bright blossoms shining Attracting bees and birds.   Little irritations, Like nourished mustard seeds, When fed with prideful thoughts Into annoyance grow. Give birth to discontent.   A new cause now is born Attracting like-minded Anger and murder too. A monster so venomous, Powered to self-destruct.   Oyster’s irritation They gently isolate. With layers of nacre, All smooth and luminous, Priceless pearl emerges.   Moses a friend of God Had moments of despair. Asked God to end his pain. Like a lowly oyster Brought forth a pearl so meek.   What ails you isolate With God’s humility. Think all, greater by far In all around you see; A pearl of God you’ll be.   Yeanoku  July 14, 2021.

Perspective

Image
The travelling car’s driver Sees all around him well. Yet two vacuums, or blind spots Follow him everywhere.   Blind spots are close behind him Far back scenes reappear. Windshield view is expanding, Rear view receding ever.   Passenger in the back seat Sees scenes go whizzing by. Perceives not where he’s going Full trust in driver’s skills.   LORD take control of my car. Your steering’s always true. Thru storms and peace, I trust You You’ve never failed me yet.   LORD! to two to Emmaus All glorious truth You Bared. Gone are the nearby blind spots By breaking bread with You.     Yeanoku     6/30/2021. Emmaus by Robert Zünd

Fathers’ Love

Image
My father’s care so stable; Worries my faith can’t topple. Strong arms with ease I’m lifted, Living swing, and bough to climb; Full of unshakeable trust.   My father’s love was shrouded Neath a robe of stern firm hand. Stirring awe bordering fear, How long bide thus, I know not. Did it ever disappear?   His respect and admiration O’er flowed as reputation, Washed over me as well; Now know firm truth uprightness His child inherits in will. He held his peace and listened Cost: being misunderstood. A nudge now and then given Problem solved! no help needed, Or so he helped me to feel.   Tender love securely secured, Every so often its leaked; Bathe...

The Giver Couldn't Give

Image
The GIVER Couldn’t Give!   Creator of the worlds is He All life and every good gives He. Yet, the GIVER couldn’t give.   A peasant child of Nazareth Poverty dogged His every step. Bound, the GIVER couldn’t give.   Cup of cold water’s all He has, Own meal presses into my hand. More, the GIVER couldn’t give.   Oh! The pain in those eyes of love, Tears brimming as my wants discern Still, the GIVER couldn’t give.   Poor mother, child homeless, weary; Stay, be right back with some money. Empty, giver couldn’t give.   Gone! Both from sight no longer, Heart sinks, sweaty hand holds a fiver. Aching, giver couldn’t give.   God, that You? The mother the child? You know my heart. I so desired. Wailing, giver couldn’t give.     Dear Father, our YHWH-yireh. We give because Your ALL You gave us. We give for giving hearts You gave us. We give ‘cause to You we’re giving. Willing, humble hearts do accept. Amen and Amen .   Yeanoku    Oct...

The Lotus Fair

Image
A long, long time ago there was a beautiful pond. The water was clear like crystal. The rocks in the pond shone like jewels. The swimming fish had beautiful colors, like the rainbow. They were kind. They were happy. They were peaceful. They jumped out of the water to say, “Hello!” to you. Everything was clean and good. Then one day something bad happened. Leaves from trees fell into the pond. Plants in the pond rotted and died. The water became muddy and yucky. Fish became scared. They would swim away and hide. In this muddy, yucky pond grew a lotus. The lotus sent long, thin stems from the mud. On the end of each thin stem was a leaf. The leaf opened like a big plate. The leaf was called a pad. It floated on the pond. It was shiny. It was polished. Mister Frog loved to sit on the pad. When he dived off the pad there were no muddy feet marks! Mud and yuck did not stick to the pad. One day, a thick stem grew up, and up, and up. On the end was a bud. The sunlight kissed the bud. The bu...

Mother Dear

Image
Mother Dear   Dear mother you carried me When no one else could. Asymmetry though you be; Proudly you carried.   The smell of food was foreign, Your food I ejected. Nothing was comfortable But, put up you did.   Nine months discomfort and pain, Still cared for my dad. Through such pain no man has known With joy you birthed me.   Counted ten toes and fingers Perfection assured. With love and tender caring You kissed and caressed.   Sleepless nights just not ending, Worried prayers ascend. I trip and fall skinning knees Your heart’s in your mouth.   Painful are partings, goodbyes Love can’t eat or sleep. Such joy visits, phone calls bring Love starved soul revives.   Mother love is God’s love seen. True it’s true how true! It’s hard to say, “goodbye mom” Don’t ever want to.   I love you Amma. No one else is Amma!   Yeanoku  5/10/2021.
