Watch Care

The wonder of Thy providence

Is always not abundance.

Our lazy heart’s desire-ing

seeks freedom from laboring.

Your providence dear Lord above,

Is as wilderness manna.

Enough for that day’s hungering;

Yet more, it’s putrefying!

The gentle spring and fall showers

Result in flower, fruits, harvest.

But torrents from the same heavens

Cause havoc, flood, destruction.

How wonderful Thy promises

for our daily need supplies.

Till the long drought has gone past us

O-il cruise and flour remain.

Our selfish hearts yearn for plenty,

Just for me and mine alone.

Teach me faith to trust in Thy Word

till Thy blessings I can share

(Turn this poetry into a song of praise with the below melody)
